Conimicut Village Association Programs

Annual Events & Village Beautification. Each year, the Association hosts the Conimicut Spring Fling, the Conimicut Village Cookout and the Holiday Tree Lighting. These three events are designed to be fun and also to raise funds for summer flower baskets and holiday decorations. In 2009 an Easter Egg Hunt and a Halloween Party were added to the list of CVA-hosted events.

City of Warwick Liaison. Warwick City Councilman Joseph Solomon represents Ward 4 which includes Conimicut. Councilman Solomon regularly attends CVA monthly meetings and provides effective problem solving. CVA leadership also works with the Executive Office of Mayor Scott Avedisian and a variety of city agencies and departments.

Community Police Liaison. Officers Robert Chille and Joseph Mee of the Community Police Division of the Warwick Police Department regularly attend CVA monthly meetings to carry on dialogue about community safety and related issues. Constructive dialogue also occurs between monthly meetings.

Media Relations. The Association works regularly with the Warwick Beacon and other media outlets to highlight the Conimicut community.

Environmental Stewardship. The Association is a proud member of Save the Bay and works with Save the Bay, the Buckeye Brook Coalition and the Mill Cove Conservancy to bring about environmental enhancement of the village.
